Established in 1922 by our beloved Tia Monica Flin, El Charro Café of Tucson, is the nation’s oldest Mexican restaurant in continuous operation by the same family. Flin is widely recognized as the inventor of the chimichanga, and the family still serves up their renown Sonoran-style fare inside the charming, century-old building once home to Flin. The El Charro Café family is proud to be considered one of America's dining icons, but we will never rest on our laurels and will continue to develop delicious hand-crafted food and beverage recipes sure to please most any palate or dietary requirement. We are innovators and originators and have proven this with our efforts in maintaining old-world quality with new-found concepts such as recipes lower in trans fat or designing dishes for those who need to dine gluten-free!
